BOOTS NEEDED for the Porters Progress'
clothing banks. They recently had to throw away 260 pairs as they had been repaired so many times, there was
little left of the original boot!.
They only have a 54 pairs of boots in good condition at the office. They are hoping to get 200 pairs of boots
donated, over the next 6 months.
The problems is to get them there. So if you have any idea on how to do this, please contact Porters
Progress.
Note: They also need 500 sunglasses and 250 pairs of gloves for both the Kathmandu and the Lukla clothing banks.

An amazing opportunity is available to help the construction of the Machermo Porter Shelter and Rescue Post.
Doug Scott, renowned British mountaineer and photographer, has managed to get Sir Ed Hillary's ORIGINAL signature on
a limited number of his photos (or posters) of Dougal Haston climbing the Hillary step near the summit of Mt Everest.
They are available at £250 (or more if you like). They have been changing hands for up to £1200, so this
is a potential investment not just a donation.
The full range available is:
- Poster- as described above
- Fine art photo print- ditto
- Print of a painting of Everest signed by Sir Ed Hillary, Sir Chris Bonington, Georges Band, Georges Lowe and Rebeka
Stevens
