IPPG plans for 2000

 
  • Finding representatives in other countries, such as Japan, Spain, Italy, Holland, Ireland, South America, etc.
  • A mail-out of this newsletter to the trekking agencies and travel media of various countries.
  • Translating the pamphlet Sharing the Load and distribute it worldwide.
  • Looking for funding and a film unit to produce a documentary on the life of a porter. Any suggestions welcome.
  • A press release with a photographic exhibition celebrating the porter to be held in Kathmandu in October.
  • Registering IPPG as a charitable or non-profit organization in more countries.
  • The year 2002 will be dedicated by the United Nations to the year of Mountain Culture, and it will be a great opportunity for IPPG to work towards porters safety.
