New Porter Rescue Post

After the death of two porters in the Machermo/Gokyo area last October, IPPG is organizing a porter rescue post at Machermo. This will be similar to the one started by Kit Spencer last season on the Meera peak approaches.
Doug Scott and Community Action Nepal have kindly offered their full support for this project. A satellite phone has been donated by Thrane & Thrane, a Danish company. The phone donation was organized by Soren Ledet.
A Nepali trained with wilderness first aid skills will run the post with help from volunteer doctors when they are available.
