5200m. It has been running for three seasons now and 251 patients
have been treated for various reasons such as (in order of frequency)
headache, diarrhoea, cough/chest pain, AMS, abdominal problems,
eye infection, trauma, and various others. It is estimated that
each treatment costs US$5, when all costs are taken into account.
Kit Spencer has been helping with the planning of the Machermo
porter rescue post. His experience with the Mera post is invaluable.
